LEODIS V. McDANIEL HIGH SCHOOL MODERNIZATION
(Previously James Madison High School)
PORTLAND, OR
How do you design for inclusivity, diversity and safety in a modern urban high school?
DAO Architecture partnered with Opsis Architecture on this high school remodel as the Associate Architect. My focus was on select areas in the building (Restrooms throughout, SPED classrooms, Servery and Kitchen, Teen Parent area, Health Clinic, Locker Rooms and Team Rooms, Community Partner's Area, Grandstands and Outdoor Consessions area) but helped out throughout the building where needed. I joined the project during Design Development and led DAO's portion through Construction Documentation and Construction Administration. During Consturction Documents I led a team producing the documents as well as coordinated with consultants. During Construction Administration I worked directly with the Contractor and consultants until the project's completion.
I also created these renderings trhough Enscape and Photoshop.
The project started construction in 2019 and is set to be complted in the fall of 2021 The building is in line to achieve a LEED Silver accreditation on Version 4. We used Revit to produce the Drawing set for this project
